After a pandemic pause in 2020 and a modified summer season in 2021, the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Inc. is excited to announce a return to a full schedule of events for 2022!
The fun begins in April with Downtown Storrs Celebrate National Poetry Month. Enjoy poetry readings, musical performances, and more in and around Downtown Storrs. Visit downtownstorrs.org/poetry for the full list of activities, all of which are open to the public and many of which are free to attend.
In May, the Partnership will kick off the summer fun with Summer Stroll on Thursday, May 26 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Planning is underway for this free event, which will feature entertainment around Downtown Storrs, specials at participating businesses, and lawn games. The following Thursday marks the return of the Summer Concerts on the Square. Enjoy free, live music every Thursday in June and July. The concerts take place from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Bring a blank or a lawn chair, pick up some take-out from your favorite downtown restaurant, and meet your friends on Betsy Paterson Square. Watch for the line-up to be announced soon at mansfieldmusic.org.
On Saturday, June 4, explore Mansfield’s historic villages and scenic roads by bicycle during the 17th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield. Choose from the 20-mile route or the 40-mile route based on your experience and comfort level, then join your fellow cycling enthusiasts for lunch following the ride. Rides begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center. For more information, including registration details, visit mansfieldct.gov/biketour.
Planning is underway for Moonlight Movies! Enjoy free, family movies on Betsy Paterson Square on Friday, August 5, 12, and 19. Activities begin at 7:30 PM; movies begin at dusk. Check downtownstorrs.org/movies for more information as planning progresses.
Our 19th Annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be Saturday, September 24 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Downtown Storrs. There are many ways for businesses, community organizations, student groups, families, and individuals to be a part of the fun at this free event! Learn more at downtownstorrsfestival.org.
Be on the lookout for goblins, ghouls, and ghosts in Downtown Storrs on Saturday, October 29 when we host Trick-or-Treat! Participating businesses will have treats for costumed kiddos from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. News and announcements about this free event will be posted to downtownstorrs.org/halloween.
On Saturday, December 3, we will usher in the new season during our 10th Annual Winter Welcome. The frosty fun will take place around Downtown Storrs and include lights, music, ice sculptures, and more! Look for more information at downtownstorrs.org/winterwelcome as the date approaches.
