Economic Development
In 2017, the Town of Mansfield contracted the Mansfield Downtown Partnership to lead the Town’s economic development efforts. Building upon the successful redevelopment of Downtown Storrs, the Town and the Partnership are working to support and retain existing businesses and attract new businesses and investments throughout Mansfield.
The Partnership provides staff support to the Economic Development Commission, serves as the Town’s lead liaison for the federally-designated Opportunity Zone in the north end of town, and represents Mansfield in regional economic development efforts.
The Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development identifies the following areas as priorities for economic development:
Downtown Storrs (on south side of UConn’s main campus)
Four Corners (intersection of Routes 44 and 195)
King Hill Road (on north side of UConn’s main campus)
East Brook Mall (intersection of Routes 6 and 195)
