September 28, 2021 – The Mansfield Downtown Partnership’s 18th Annual Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be Saturday, October 2 in Downtown Storrs. The largest community event in Mansfield, the Festival is free and open to everyone.
To accommodate the event, the following streets will be closed from 6:00 AM until approximately 10:00 PM:
Dog Lane from Storrs Road to Royce Circle (near 18 Dog lane)
Royce Circle from Dog Lane (near Barnes & Noble UConn) to Wilbur Cross Way
Bolton Road Ext. Wilbur Cross Way from Royce Circle to Elsie Marsh Way
West Access Road (the street behind Kathmandu Kitchen & Bar at 33 Wilbur Cross Way)
Parking for the Celebrate Mansfield Festival will be available in the Downtown Storrs Parking Garage, which will be free for the day. The parking garage will be accessible via Charles Smith Way to Wilbur Cross Way then Elsie Marsh Way to Royce Circle.
Additional parking will be available in the E. O. Smith High School parking lots and in the Mansfield Town Hall parking lot. On-street parking will be available on Storrs Road. Additional parking will also be available in UConn Lot R (off Maple Lane, near the School of Fine Arts); any and all signed restrictions apply in UConn lots during the event.
Bus service to Downtown Storrs will be available during the Festival with some detours and adjusted stops. There will be no bus service at the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center. Instead, CTtransit and Peter Pan bus lines will pick up riders at the bus stop located on Storrs Road in front of Price Chopper. UConn’s Campus Loop will service the Price Chopper and Buckley stops. The closest WRTD stops will be Shippee Hall, E. O. Smith, Price Chopper or the Mansfield Community Center, depending on the direction in which you are travelling.
As part of its low-waste efforts, the Partnership encourages carpooling, riding the bus, biking, and walking to the Celebrate Mansfield Festival. For visitors arriving by bicycle, bike racks are located throughout Downtown Storrs, including outside the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center. Cyclists are asked to please walk their bikes through the Festival during the event.
