Brian is a 1982 graduate of the University of Connecticut Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture and was employed at the University of Connecticut for 27 years in public safety, retiring in 2018. Brian has been a resident of Mansfield since 2008 and has had a rental business in Mansfield since 1992. He earned his Real Estate Salesperson license in 2016 and is currently an agent with Simply Sold Real Estate of North Windham.
Brian enjoys his “retirement” by being actively engaged in town government. He was appointed to the Mansfield Town Council in November 2021, and he currently serves on the Economic Development Commission, the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, the Town/University Relations Committee, and the Town Council’s Personnel Committee. He married Mansfield resident Tamra DeBoer in 1986 and has two children, Brandon and Megan, who attended the Mansfield schools and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut.
Brian is interested in maintaining a thriving downtown as well as a robust business community throughout Mansfield. He understands the challenges of “brick and mortar businesses” and that the “build and they will come” strategy needs continuous work long after the building of the downtown was completed. He looks forward to bringing forth ideas to the Mansfield Downtown Partnership to insure its continued vitality.
