Partnership to Host Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Storrs: Sat, Oct. 29

The Mansfield Downtown Partnership will host Trick-or-Treat in Downtown Storrs on Saturday, October 29 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This fun, free event will take place rain or shine. Trick-or-Treat is open to residents of all towns and ages; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Partnership invites children to dress in their Halloween best and collect treats from participating businesses. Look for signs in the windows of participating businesses or preview the list of participants at downtownstorrs.org/halloween.

Stop by Betsy Paterson Square at 4:00 PM for a demonstration by students of Villari’s Martial Arts of Mansfield and at 4:30 PM for a thrilling performance by students from Mansfield Academy of Dance!

The Town of Mansfield Public Works and Fire & Emergency Services Departments will have vehicles on display throughout Downtown Storrs. Children can get an up-close look at the vehicles and talk to the folks that operate them.

Trick-or-Treat ends at 5:00 PM, but the fun doesn’t stop then! Everyone is invited to walk over to the

Mansfield Community Center for their Annual Halloween Party and Trick-a-Trunk, which starts at 5:00 PM and continues until 6:30 PM. Please call 860.429.3015x0 for more information about this event.

To accommodate Trick-or-Treat, the following streets will be closed from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM:

  • Dog Lane from Storrs Road to the east intersection of Royce Circle (near Jefferson Fry Co.)

  • Royce Circle from the west intersection of Royce Circle (near Barnes & Noble UConn) to Wilbur Cross Way

  • Wilbur Cross Way from Royce Circle to Elsie Marsh Way

  • Bolton Road Ext.

  • The west access road behind 33 Wilbur Cross Way (Kathmandu Kitchen & Bar)

There will be no on-street parking on the above-listed streets from noon until 6:00 PM.

Parking will be available in the Downtown Storrs Parking Garage, which is free for the first two hours and then just $1/hour thereafter.
